Strava/iPhone Problem - Shutdown

Yes, I know there is an "electronics" forum but I think there is more experience with Strava here.

I am running the Strava App in my iPhone 6s. Latest iOS.

For the past several weeks, when I am riding and running Strava, the phone shuts down and acts like the battery is drained. Even though it really has 40-60% power left. A reset starts the phone up but within a few seconds the stupid low battery mode comes back. Plugging into power solves problem and battery back instantly to 50% or whatever it was before phone shut down. This is a new problem, did not happen a few months ago (phone is 1 year old).

This ONLY happens when running Strava App. When using phone otherwise, does not happen and I can use all the way down to 1% power.

I am thinking it's a Strava (or possibly GPS) software issue that "fools" the iOS into thinking the battery is dead when it's not.

Any suggestions?
