Did you check the OLD? How old is this frame, perhaps someone jammed a 130 hub (8+ speed?) into a 126 (6 or 7 speed?) frame and now you need to spread the dropouts to stuff a 130 hub in there. That is another issue. Is there plenty of clearance with the seat tube/FD?
More like a 135 into a 130. Short chainstays with little flex, it ain't going in. I could come up with some analogies but it's Sunday...
