The rear wheel axle was damaged so I pulled another wheel out of the rafters that was already trued and had new bearings and used that with the 6 speed Perfect freewheel. I measured the drop outs on the bike and it was 126 mm already so the new freewheel fit fine. I got another axle from the bike exchange today for the original Weinman wheel and will put it together tomorrow and see if the perfect freewheel will fit. This wheel had a cycle pro 5 speed 14-24 tooth freewheel on it and I can see no good reason for using it again. The Perfect is 14-32 and I put a Raleigh branded Suntour GT long cage derailleur on so now the bike has much better hill gearing.
By the way the bike weighs just 28 lbs. all up.
I'll post a pic when it is all finished.
