I got married in 2005 in a non denominational chapel on the campus here. It was by a justice of the peace. The ceremony was entirely non religious as neither one of us were religious. We chose it because of how old it is, with non religious stained glass windows, cobblestone floor, old wooden pews, and the fact that both of our families had ties to the university.
The reception was over priced, the food was terrible, the venue was a typical cheesy ball room at a golf course. If I decide to get married again, it will be on the beach, with some close friends and family, a justice of the peace, and that is it. Maybe grill out some burgers and brats, maybe dinner at an ocean side restaurant, but never again will that much money be dumped into a reception.
Will gladly avoid the whole religion topic, as everyone has their own personal feelings on it and its importance.
