Currently in Minsk Belarus, but previously lived in Flagstaff, AZ. Even though northern AZ is thought of as a biking mecca of sorts, the shops rarely had touring or commuting related gear on hand. Also previously in Lawrence, KS, near home of the Dirty Kanza 200 bike race attended by thousands every year had very little in the way of bags. Just saying if you aren't in a major city you likely won't get hands on without driving a ways, and there are lots of shops out there that just have the latest and greatest in highly priced mountain and road bikes and very little in terms of useful gear for commuters and tourers.
