A week-end Tour, on Tour.
As I promote getting out, even for an overnighter.
Well, here is the results of my week-end Tour (overnighter).
The plan: From my location Saturday morning, travel to see the longest covered bridge in the world. Overnight in Woodstock, then travel on to Fredericton New Brunswick. Total, 170km.
So, a photo to show my rig, and the morning conditions as I start.
A small power dam along the way.
This is all on the Trans-Canada trail network, some maintained by the Provincial parks, some by the locals.
A nice Gazebo where I stopped for by Brunch, 30km into my ride.
Added bonus, one of the other covered bridges here in New Brunswick (Florence NB,).
A nice view point opposite the Seniors home.
Somebody's nice flowers.
A local maintaining the trail opposite his property.
Well, my destination. I suppose a selfie is needed (I'm not good at them).
I was called in off of the road by this couple who treated me to a cool glass of juice and a banana. They see several cyclist each year, a notable climb to their house. And, a shot of their everyday view of the river valley.
A drive-in, Very similar to the one in our home town where I grew up in Alberta. (nice find).
Packing up Sunday morning. The Walmart was on the very edge of town close to the Trans-Canada hiway. I traveled about 75km in beautiful conditions.
That is the eastbound lane of the Trans-Canada about 9am, very little traffic, good shoulders.
I see the Moose are bigger than the cars here!
Well the headwinds returned by afternoon. Made my destination of Fredericton about 5:30 (100km).
This was a nice week-end overnighter. The sort of trip most would enjoy. Hope you get out soon.
