Yup,driven through that tunnel many times. Before Aut. 30 was completed, 132 used to be the escape route to avoid Montreal traffic.

Yes, I was through your area (Montreal), damn wet!

(joke).

You are so correct, everyone needs to just get out there, wherever there is "Just do it".
Great day, meet a young cyclist from England headed my direction. So an afternoon of visiting with a like minded cyclist.

I would love to do something similar, but I have a hard time taking the required time off on my job. How do you do it? (I am in preps to do a 1 week thing to Ottawa, but for more than 2-3-4 weeks, it's not just the holidays you get from work any more).

I hope you'll keep on having exciting times Thanks for keeping us up-to-date and cheering for you!

My new friend Sarah had a poor day today. After slugging her way to Riviere du loup QB. in that crazy headwind yesterday. Today's ferry crossings were cancelled due to the weather. That disrupts here Whale watching, the just of here tour to Canada. That is disheartening, and I hope it works for her.

As for me, I crossed into the next time zone. That always makes me giggle, by bike (!), ha-ha. In New Brunswick now.
Also seen my shadow today, last siting was in Ontario !
Had to stop and take a photo of the flowers, as my dear Bride would have, she liked these types of photos.
My bike in the most northerly corner of the United States (less Alaska).
The pizza I had after a hard day of head winds. Score, the owner offered his woodlot up the hill above town, as a camping spot. Nice view, and extremely quiet.

One needs Faith on Tour.
Yesterday as the weather was great where I am, I had Faith that Sarah's trip would work out. This morning, I got a photo of here ferry crossing trip. She will be on a boat watching Whales today, that makes me happy.

As for me, I was tired, and planning on a short day rest, check over my ride, etc. Well a 1/2 hr nap at lunch revived me for a beautiful afternoon, and about the best evening ride I can ever remember. Riding along the river, dead calm super quiet. To avoid some hills I opted for the rail/trail, nice. I eventually stop, and climbed into my tent along the trail at 8:30, slept about 10hrs. It is going to be a nice (long) ride for the next two days. Happens to be a week-end. Treat it as a two day tour, in new countryside. As I promote getting out on tour, hope many others get out for the week-end.
Todays ride started nice!

I have done some research on the covered bridges here in New Brunswick. Turns out the longest one in the world is with-in reach this afternoon, with this gorgeous weather, Hooray!
My week-end tour, chat soon.

Snuts, Looking good! A chance meeting to pal around some is always fun and I'd forgotten how splendid spring run off can be.

A week-end Tour, on Tour.

As I promote getting out, even for an overnighter.
Well, here is the results of my week-end Tour (overnighter).

The plan: From my location Saturday morning, travel to see the longest covered bridge in the world. Overnight in Woodstock, then travel on to Fredericton New Brunswick. Total, 170km.

So, a photo to show my rig, and the morning conditions as I start.
A small power dam along the way.
This is all on the Trans-Canada trail network, some maintained by the Provincial parks, some by the locals.
A nice Gazebo where I stopped for by Brunch, 30km into my ride.
Added bonus, one of the other covered bridges here in New Brunswick (Florence NB,).
A nice view point opposite the Seniors home.
Somebody's nice flowers.
A local maintaining the trail opposite his property.
Well, my destination. I suppose a selfie is needed (I'm not good at them).
I was called in off of the road by this couple who treated me to a cool glass of juice and a banana. They see several cyclist each year, a notable climb to their house. And, a shot of their everyday view of the river valley.
A drive-in, Very similar to the one in our home town where I grew up in Alberta. (nice find).
Packing up Sunday morning. The Walmart was on the very edge of town close to the Trans-Canada hiway. I traveled about 75km in beautiful conditions.
That is the eastbound lane of the Trans-Canada about 9am, very little traffic, good shoulders.
I see the Moose are bigger than the cars here!
Well the headwinds returned by afternoon. Made my destination of Fredericton about 5:30 (100km).

This was a nice week-end overnighter. The sort of trip most would enjoy. Hope you get out soon.

This (part of) tour is now complete.
Fredericton saw a wet evening. The next day waiting for the weather to improve, I pulled my bike inside a Laundromat. Dried my sleeping bag, and a few other things. Visit the bike shop, etc. Ended the day with a nice Steak Panini, and some chilly. The next day I had a rather short 90km to Saint John, where I expected to overnight, be a tourist then catch the ferry today (Wed). Be darned, I find the terminal to inquire about the fare/loading times. Get on your the last before we draw up the ramp, done!.
A few shots of sights along the way. Especially sobering was a road side monument to (Andrew) a cyclist that lost his life on #7. I stopped stood the sign back up, cleaned some of the litter around. You hear about it, but to see the carnage, reality.
I landed in Nova Scotia, called my sister with my success. They drove the 90 miles to pick me up. I had a pie, and rode out on the #101, where they found me. A wheels-off tear down to get it all in the SUV.
Sure nice to get to family again, and a nice bed.

3563km, in 39 days. Not a race, but my saddle fits nice, ha-ha. Tomorrow my dear Ride with get some love.

Hope in some small way this has fuelled others to ride somewhere.
Thank-you for viewing.

We never had Turtles, I thought it was neat.
My first ferry ride on this trip, there must be 10lbs of water soaked up, did I get rained on!
Day off as a tourist. Brian's Record Options. Do you think it has been there forever, look at the open sign.
That is not the back, no the left side isle.
Camp this morning. I stopped on the bike path next to the park entrance, hell looked quiet enough in the dark.
I made it to Quebec this afternoon, I'm excited.
