2 miles x 61 x 2 (you have to come back down) is 244 miles which is 17.4mph. That's a pretty decent avg speed when you spend half the distance climbing.

Thanks for the comments. I may be biting off more than I can chew.
I will try a 1/4 Everest on my intended route in the next couple of weeks to get a taste of the experience. If I like it, will extend to a 1/2 Everest before I try the full Monty.
