Also, it showed the Bolt as connected if I tapped on the Bolt ID on the Connecting screen. Bolt did not show up in the Iphone bluetooth menu.
I restarted both the Bolt and the app and the iPhone BT to no avail. All sensors connected to Bolt properly, so I made my ride. At the conclusion, I ended the ride on Bolt and it uploaded to Strava automatically and properly, although it did not indicate as much.
I guess I will try plugging Bolt into computer to look for updates, but I feel that should happen over the air via the app, or do I have the wrong concept here
I had a similar problem. My Elemnt would connect but then it would unconnected and the cycle through the whole thing again while my phone and the Elemnt were sitting side by side on the table. The fix is to reset the iPhone's network settings which means you lose your vpn setups and wifi passwords. That was a little drastic, but it worked. Heaven knows what a bluetooth connection to a peripheral has to do with corrupting the overall networking stack but.....
Your Bolt will upload to Strava over wifi all by itself. Doesn't need your phone for that but it can do it that way too.
This stuff is starting to get complicated. We've now got a little (maybe not so little) personal network going on while you're riding your bike down the road.
