I can't get the real flavor of a full moon ride close to home because it's too built up and there;s so much ambient light.

However, I've done numerous moonlight rides out in the country, and the full moon throws enough light that I can ride without my headlight. This was especially nice BITD because before LEDs bicycle lighting could be limited the single digit lumens anyway.
