Thanks for responding sloar... interesting that steel wool / silver polish would work on chrome. I was scared to try SW for fear of scratching the chrome. Read somewhere that was why alum foil was so effective because you COULDN'T scratch chrome since AF is a softer material. I was thinking SW was 'harder' and would scratch into the chrome.

I did use SW & polish on the aluminum rims & spokes with pretty good results.

I will try your method later today and will report back. Thanks again.
