I did rebuild the bike, did a little rust removal on the chrome and paint, new tires and tubes, and then posted it for sale, cheap on CL.
Got a response from an elder, who rode the bus for over hour and a half, to come get the bike and take it (by bus with bike rack) home. It was the same bike he rode as a kid, and was delighted to have it! Really fun to see him pedaling around the parking lot of the Bus Station where I met him about 1/2 way.
