If a bike shop can't bleed a set of SRAM brakes, then they probably can't bleed any brakes, as apart from the fluid (DOT vs mineral in Shimano), bleeding SRAM brakes is no different from any other brand.

If you want to swap, any current Shimano brake work, choose your budget, and buy accordingly.
