Regarding the chimes, for purity of the sound, be aware that it's going to be difficult to get them just right. Brazed-on cable guides, shifter bosses, bottle mounts, etc. will alter the tonal quality. So will butted tubing.

Cosmetically, the striker (if a cog) will beat the tar out of them. And they'll rust.

On second thought, to hell with all that. They'll be so freaking cool it won't matter.
