Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

The advantage that a motorcycle chain has over a bicycle chain is that it is enclosed by a case that prevents abrasive contaminants out. Bicycle chains in general do not have this advantage. There are some bikes with fully enclosed chain cases and oil baths such as Bornman prefers, but they have not been widely popular for a number of reasons. First, they do not work with derailleur systems, and require either a single-speed hub or an internally geared hub with higher operating friction than a derailleur system. This is not an issue with a motorcycle, as the engine can easily overcome the higher friction of an enclosed gear system. Second, they make servicing the rear wheel a major chore. There is no easy way to fix a rear flat on a bike with an enclosed chain case. Third, they add weight and weight (or lack of it) is one of the major marketing characteristics with bicycles.

Dry, belt drive bicycle drivetrains are a more plausible solution to the problems Bornman describes, but even these are restricted to either single speed hubs or internally geared hubs. They do not require the enclosure or oil bath, making them much easier to service and lighter weight than an enclosed chain system.
