Correct, when it comes to indexing, brake and shift housing are not interchangeable. And ahi ft housing must be made for indexing. I tried to use the original exposed metal RD housing on my wife's '85 Allez (pre-indexing) with an SIS 7400 RD and it was no go. Swapped in SIS housing and it was like buttah. If I had blue housing, I'd send you a foot.
