I dropped my membership this year as it's basically duplicated by my GEICO insurance. As well I'm not getting towed to the AAA guys shop, or somewhere of my choosing for a lot of money.

As well, the NYC chapter is very, very pro automobile (well, no surprise) to what I feel is the detriment of other forms of transportation. They are constantly complaining and lobbying against the MTA tolls on bridges and tunnels and the money going to mass transit. I disagree with them philosophically about this and just decided I could no longer support them using my membership fees for this purpose.
