What do you mean by "auto gears"? If you are asking about an IGH (internal gear hub) then either chain or belt is suitable. As ammarolli noted, a belt is cleaner and more weather proof. However, it is more expensive and requires a specifically made frame to install while a chain can be used on any frame.
Breaking a chain should not be a concern unless it's improperly installed and/or badly neglected in service.
Yes,that I mean internal gear hub. I want to buy an urban bike and there are2 options. 1 with belt ,& 1 with chain. I don't know what is the best.
