Well, if you really feel that way, you have no choice but to STRIP IT and convert it to a single speed. Dump those gears, hand brakes, and all those reflectors. The bike is screaming to be stripped down. It's saying, "I don't need all that complicated adult crap. Take it off of me and set me free!!!!!" All those cables and leashes and collars are like animal cruelty to a beach cruiser. Be kind to your bike.

If I was going to ride the bike strictly at the beach, I might strip all that off. But I plan to use it in downtown San Antonio as well and there are too many hills for this old guy without some gears.
And, of course, now there's no beach left in Texas to ride my new cruiser.
