My phone is pretty old and occasionally my battery life will drop for no apparent reason, but running this app is really the only issue I have with it, so I don't want to drop a bunch of cash on something I don't use very often. And thanks for the FYI about the apps/data and how it relates to the battery, I wasn't sure if that stuff mattered or not so I figured I'd delete what I don't use. I did know about the apps running in the background so I always close those pretty often.

Seems like the best option (until I save some money) is to buy the external battery and small cable and work with what I've got.
