Post Your Craigslist Near Misses

Saw an ad for this De Bernardi on the local Craigslist recently for $100:





Wheels / tires and stem are hideous of course, but that frame looks like a beauty (other than the paint job, IMO). Made in Italy, as you may have guessed. With Campy components too.

Bike was gone within an hour naturally, but I was second in line, if the first guy coming to look at it didn't want it. He did of course ...

I did some research on De Bernardi, and supposedly they built bikes for Colnago and other companies. I had never heard of them. From what I read, professional riders used to buy De Bernardi's frames and have them custom painted to match the colors of the sponsored team bike they were supposed to be riding. That tells me that these were some pretty special frames, but until I see another ad like this, I will never know first hand.
