Does a 1xAA 'torch' even exist? Even a 4 x AA like the Ascent Commuter has 3 levels and on the lowest setting should be just the ticket for 'minimalist' application. $14, and you get a very nice taillight as well. A decent 'pop off' mount as well. Something to find keys with in the dark might have 1 x AA. Any commercial mount for it is going to cost more than the light itself. I would DIY if it were me.
When I say minimalist I mean physical size. I can also get batteries many places on the road if my Eneloop's run dry.
There are many 1xAA torches some of them brighter than 300 lumens like some of the 1xAA Zebralights.
A 4xAA light is bulkier than I want since this light will be sharing space with a larger light.
