Something to mount a 1xAA Zebralight flashlight

I want to find something to mount a 1xAA Zebralight flashlight onto a bike. I want a mount that I can quickly remove the light while leaving the mount on the bike.

I am looking for the best for this application, any suggestions?

Torches that use single AA cells are usually quite small and lite-weight. A simple cheap rubber and Velcro torch handlebar mount should do the trick. Something like this. You can buy the same thing from the cheap Chinese websites for just a couple bucks apiece but you have to wait for the long shipping. Word of warning; If you buy one I would highly suggest buying two. Sometimes the Velcro on these things are cheap and break if you over-tighten. Otherwise they work fine for small torches. For larger torches the added weight causes too much vibration to be useful. I use one on my mountain bike to hold my very small Olight S-1. If it were me I wouldn't leave it on the bike though. Too easy for thieves to take if left unattended.

ships from the U.S. and is less expensive. Hope this helps.

Two Fish mounts work well .. But Real Bike headlights make fine Flashlights, and include better handlebar mounts..

I already have a real bike light, I have two Gemini lights. I have already had a situation where I wish I had a minimalist single cell AA light.

If I could find a minimalist single AA dedicated bike light for a backup or for special situations that was as good as some of the better singe AA flashlights I would buy it in a heart beat.

I wonder if I should just get a single AA good quality headlamp as a backup. A headlamp like that could also double as something to do tube changes with at 2am on a lonely road.

Does a 1xAA 'torch' even exist? Even a 4 x AA like the Ascent Commuter has 3 levels and on the lowest setting should be just the ticket for 'minimalist' application. $14, and you get a very nice taillight as well. A decent 'pop off' mount as well. Something to find keys with in the dark might have 1 x AA. Any commercial mount for it is going to cost more than the light itself. I would DIY if it were me.

When I say minimalist I mean physical size. I can also get batteries many places on the road if my Eneloop's run dry.

There are many 1xAA torches some of them brighter than 300 lumens like some of the 1xAA Zebralights.

A 4xAA light is bulkier than I want since this light will be sharing space with a larger light.

There are lots of quite nice CREE Q-5 lights that would fit your requirements. I have one that I bought recently as a prize for some kids. The dimensions are 3.25" X 1/2"D and it weighs less than an ounce with the battery. The case is aluminum. It is bright so I wonder how long it will run before the battery runs out. A slightly larger version use the 18650 Li-ion battery I prefer to use. The $60 SCr AA flashlight looks like a solution in search of a problem. Who on earth needs all of those different lumen choices? Anything below 20 lumens is as worthless as the old incandescent flashlight. 3.2, 1.1, 0.3 and 0.1 lumens? Those would be invisible during the day and not much good at night either.

zz

I have had dozens of 18640 lights and have an 18650 bike lights already. If i run out of charge on my main light I cant pick up batteries everywhere, with AA if I can find a store I can get batteries. If you are in Tonkawa, Riggens, or Terlingua you have a long way to go to pickup some charged 18650's. AA primary cells can be found in all of these places.

Only the lower settings are useless when on the bike, the middle settings are useful. I carry a single AA in my pocket everyday. Being able to attack it to my bike would be a plus. It would go back in my pocket when I get to my destination.

I have !8660 lights for my bikes, I have USB lights for my bikes, I still want my backup light to be AA until the day comes when I either plug in everywhere or I can pickup 18650's at a gas station in Tonkawa.

I just ordered a Twofish mount though I am starting to think a small 1xAA headlamp might be more practical for my wants.

H53w with mount works incredibly well on the helmet. Very lightweight, quite bright for an AA light or as dim as you want and you can reposition the lamp as you ride.

Torch:
H53w AA Headlamp Neutral White

Holder
GITD silicone holder for H51, H502, H52, H53

I've upgraded to the 18650 version for the increased brightness and runtimes but the AA ones are more comfortable.

Like you said, there are plenty of single AA torches out there. Since you are looking for something for backup it's a good idea to buy something reliable. Last thing you need when in a pinch is to have your back-up fail. I've had cheap Chinese single AA torches fail before. Go with a brand name torch. I did a quick search myself and I see some stuff I really like. ( If you buy one look for something that includes a clip, preferable one you can reverse if you want. That way you can clip to a helmet or hat brim. ) You could get a small head lamp and that would work but it's nice to have something small you can carry in your pocket ( EDC ) everyday or when you need it. ( I'm not giving the links because I don't want to cause a run on a particular torch I might want myself. )
