A slightly larger version use the 18650 Li-ion battery I prefer to use. The $60 SCr AA flashlight looks like a solution in search of a problem. Who on earth needs all of those different lumen choices? Anything below 20 lumens is as worthless as the old incandescent flashlight. 3.2, 1.1, 0.3 and 0.1 lumens? Those would be invisible during the day and not much good at night either.

I have had dozens of 18640 lights and have an 18650 bike lights already. If i run out of charge on my main light I cant pick up batteries everywhere, with AA if I can find a store I can get batteries. If you are in Tonkawa, Riggens, or Terlingua you have a long way to go to pickup some charged 18650's. AA primary cells can be found in all of these places.
Only the lower settings are useless when on the bike, the middle settings are useful. I carry a single AA in my pocket everyday. Being able to attack it to my bike would be a plus. It would go back in my pocket when I get to my destination.
I have !8660 lights for my bikes, I have USB lights for my bikes, I still want my backup light to be AA until the day comes when I either plug in everywhere or I can pickup 18650's at a gas station in Tonkawa.
