The Handsome Devil has a very short top-tube for using with flat bars so look into that measurement carefully to be sure it will work for you.

You didn't specify a budget but the Salsa Marrakesh and Surly Ogre both might fight the bill. I converted my 3x drivetrain to a 1x with no problems and I'm running it on my Karate Monkey, which is almost identical to pre-2017 Ogres.
