I hear ya braddah. Heading to the Arakawa is downhill from my house, but was pretty much straight into the wind which kind of negated it and didn't push me into traffic. Once on the river I found it flooded in areas, but empty except for a homeless man pushing his cart along the bike path (1 reason for one of my aborted runs). The wind was coming from my back left side (from about the 7 o'clock position) and kept threatening to put me into the berm.

But jeezus it pushed me along nicely. If it weren't for flooding I think I would have collected a few KOMs along the 20km run to Tokyo Bay.
