Yep, I have a large binder clip attached to a table beside my bed, which holds the end of a USB extension cable, and then my phone cable plugs into that. Never have to fishing around on the floor for the cable.

Nice job with the mouse pad attachment above. I've got to come up with something like that for my e-bike with (what were supposed to be but aren't really) SKS Longboard fenders.
