Ok, in all seriousness I'd consider it a step down. If you do want the Fuji then get it, but don't sell that wonderful piece of Italian machinery. Or at least send it my way to be loved as it should be.
A new, modern bike may be a better every day bike.

But under no circumstances would a sane person sell the Pegoretti.

Put the Pegoretti in the 'over' part of and over/under bike rack... and get whatever disposable plastic bike du jour you want for the lower, ridden daily, part of the rack.

But don't ever part with the classic.
