Sportcrafter Overdrive Pro rollers have pretty realistic progressive resistance built internally into the drum. These easily allow interval workouts such as 2x20's.
Price is $399, right in the middle of the Performance rollers and more expensive Inside Ride e-motion rollers you mentioned. For me it was the sweet spot.

I did see a used Inside Ride set on Craigslist for $500 and sorry I did not jump on it.
