I am Having trouble with the Ryde Andra 40 Rim because the nipples are binding in the wall of the rim causing the nipples to shear while tightening. It would seem that the nipple recesses are drilled to deep causing the nipples to bind in the rim.

Also one of the nipples pulled through the rim suggesting that the aluminium is too soft a metal for the application or the holes in the rim are too large.

In the pictures you can see the swarf created by the edge of the nipple head cutting into the wall of the rim.

I wonder if anyone else has the same issue, could the nipples need nipple washers or is this a manufacturing fault?
