It's the exact same bike I had, either an 1988, or 89 Model years Trek 1200. I sold mine for $225 in December of 2015. It needed nothing. Bar Tape was new and the tires had 800 miles on them maybe. It was a nice bike. People were yelling at me calling me a ***, or telling me they loved my bike. Funny. I road it for 2 years.
You need to take a pic of the drive side. Looks clean, but the wheels are mismatched. That could be a red flag that something happened to the bike. Maybe not, just saying. The rear wheel is an original Matrix, the front is not.
