I haven't got a clue what ebike shop owners look for either, but I'd tend to believe it would skew more towards the automotive world where certifications are indeed relevant. After all, it is a motorized vehicle, with a heck of a lot more liability if your guy screws up and someone winds up hurt than running a help desk. Heck of a lot easier for someone without training to screw up electronics and for your shop to eat the cost of repair than it is to damage something mechanically, as well.
Anyone here run a bike shop that services ebikes?
