Mustache bars upside down have better rise and I have found to be more comfortable. But more casual looking. Works well for chasing down roadies and crushing their spirit on my fixed cog fendered upright...

And I would choose a little discomfort over bad aesthetics up to about 25 miles. Fortunately I have many bikes.
