i should have added a sarcasm indicator.... app and program is the same thing. just marketing for smaller programs calls them apps. since Windows 8 those little things on PCs also are called apps.
Not sure how you log miles without GPS. You just read from the odometer (simple bike computer) and manually enter? You can use Excel, or Word... but that seems more complicated than using a free app.
