So far, so good with the Valentino RD. There is a lot undeserved negativity around low end bike parts that seems to be part of the hobby. Properly set up and not worn, this one works well, remembering of course it was the early seventies. I wanted to experience a period bike and this was a good candidate. Most of these older derailleurs main limitation is using them with larger rear cogs than they were designed for. It surely works better than the Benelux on my '58 Sun! The front derailleur, seems slow to find the new CR but it also works fine. Have you posted the Frejus?
