Dad is long gone and my going is getting closer every day. That said, my father's day was half disaster half great.

Made myself a coffee, started a fire in the wood stove (still chilly here in Canada) and went to was the dishes (I am the dish washer in our house). Filled the sink, turned the hot water tap off and it did not go off..?

The ancient mechanism broke, on Sunday and fifty miles from the city. What to do? Well, to make a long story short, I grabbed a set of taps that I found at our local landfill site, modified the counter top to make the tap set fit and, poof, everything worked out perfectly for not a penny spent. The whole thing went so well that, upon finishing, I opened a tall can of Steam Whistle beer, lit up a poof and poofed.

Great day and I even treated myself to something extra special, but I will probably have to sell it - a mint, black with full matched Campy nine speed group Cyclops that I have lusted over since I saw it, years ago, in a local bike shop where it was being fitted with the new full and matched Campy group. At that time the bike was not for sale but I am buying it this morning, when I go to the city to car hunt.
