I'm sorry, northbend.
My wife and I took a ride in the country. It was hot, and she wasn't ready for the heat, so it was rough for her, but we made it back.
My older daughter called from Colorado, and we had a nice chat.
My younger daughter and her girlfriend were going to come for dinner, but as we were getting ready to drive back to NYC, she texted and asked if we'd be willing to go to her place, as they were exhausted from their travels, so I said sure. It was a long trip to Brooklyn and back, but it was worth it. I got to see their cat and dog, too, which was nice. Well, the dog is nice. The cat is nasty, but she's young, so there's hope.
Then today, my older daughter posted a heartfelt tribute to me on facebook. So father's day was nice for me, though I still miss my father as much as ever. He died in 2009.
