I will say my Vittoria Corsa G+s are the best tires I have used on the road and looks don't really worry me because the ride is so excellent. However I think they also do a blackwall version if skinwall ain't ya thing. Also have used Challenge tires in the Pro open tubular variety and same thing they get dirty but they feel real nice and certainly have a wider tires than the Corsa G+s.

Also a useful note from Welcome to Cameltire :: When you need a good tire ::

The soft tread tells us that there is more rubber and less filler. So the soft tread is better.
