I've read most responses and have a few comments as a rider who has tubeless tires, tube tires, and tubular tires on different bikes.
Stans original sealant does not work at road bike tire pressures. You need Stans Race sealant it is one of the best. Stans original works well for mountain bikes up to 40 psi.
Stans Race sealant. Is difficult to remove from the tires. I've had to use acetone for small spots. It is so sticky that the tire will stick to itself when it is squeezed together.
Your situation looks like too much air pressure for the combination tire and rim. The rule of thumb is whatever pressure you want to use, the tire has to hold 120% of that pressure just sitting there. When I mounted mine, I started at 80 psi, let the tire stand overnight and each night added 5 psi until I got to 120 psi, the max for the rim. This told me I could run with 100 psi. However, I usually run 95. You can find this on YouTube.
If you know the pressure that caused the explosion, you can use that to help you find a starting place. Also, Stans Race sealant will help seal the tire to the rim bead.
I hope this helps.
