I'm very curious to see some statistics on the rate of tubeless tires failing. I can't tell you how many stories I've heard about tubes blowing off tires but there have been many both on this forum and in personal experience.
The only evidence I have is my personal experience and the info I’ve found on the net from others purported personal experiences.
Motor vehicle tire sidewalls are almost rigid where the bead is. The rim doesn’t flex much.
The agency I work with has several bicycles used for patrol. They tried the tubeless route but had too many problems with them. But then again the bicycle with the officer and all the equipment weighs a bunch.
