I wonder the same thing. I sprayed the soapy water fairly liberally on the bead/rim area (as I do when mounting clinchers). Some of it no doubt leaked through and ended up with the sealant. This might explain why the sealant didn't stick to the inside of the tire as everyone said it should have.

When I do try another set of tubeless tires, I'll install them dry.
