Hi!

I think it's about time for a proper update as the last update was in early February 2018. SInce then there have been 122 commutes (440 total on the bike) and I'm up to a total of 5101km/3169mi and I need the following updates in the cost:

1. I was run over by a van from behind that didn't stop and just ran me over. This required a new wheelset and a new tube. I was of the bike for a while as I healed. The total cost of the wheelset and the tube was £127, which I took from the driver in a bank transfer and then we hit the pub afterward. I assume that this will be a cost-neutral exercise, however, it does remove the ability to measure how long the original wheelset would last. Maybe one accident is an accurate assessment of longevity.

2. I had to replace the fenders on the bike and the Crud Roadracer MKII front one had snapped at the end and the rear finally broke off. Total cost of replacement is £31.98. This is most likely due:

• A houseparty where my bike was thrown over the fence into the sea (was fished out)
• Two accidents with parked cars
• One van run over (aforementioned)
• Endless banging around in the bikecage and on the bikeracks

3. One new inner tube (23-622 long-stem presta) due to the crap roads cutting through my greenguard on my Schwalbe Marathons. This tube was £3 at Halfords.

Thus the updated additional cost of £34.98 with 122 more commutes.
