That's why this thread is cool. I'm impressed that is now five years old. It's taken a lot of labor by [MENTION=200073]acidfast7[/MENTION] to track his expenses etc., and a bigger picture view would require many people to do the same. Now that I buy a large fraction of my stuff on Amazon, maybe it would be easier for me, but honestly, I don't think I'll be adding up my receipts into a spreadsheet and dividing my miles by dollars. I would love it if others did it, though.

I do track my miles, because it's fun and easy. I hit "start" when I start riding, and I hit "stop" at the end of a ride. I use ridewithgps, and it colleges more metrics than I could wish for. I like to keep the home screen so that it displays how many miles I've ridden in the calendar year. My commute is 13 miles round trip, and I ride more than just commuting, so I'm on target to hit 3,000 miles this year, which makes me feel good.
