About slotting cable stops: do you braze on un-slotted stops and then slot them afterwards with a cut-off wheel, or do they come slotted?
I'd say that the rivets weren't worth the trouble. Peter Weigle only used epoxy. Rivets may come loose.

I've got about 8 different kinds of cable guides and stops in my box of braze-on bits. You can get them slotted or unslotted. Unless someone wants it otherwise, I always used the slotted ones.

You can see a lot of different versions at Framebuilder Supply
