Lug angle question/help
I am seeking help and have some questions regarding the lug angle on the BB at the DT. The ST is already brazed in the BB. It's good. I will state that I checked and rechecked the set up with all of the main tubes in the lugs about 10 different times prior to actually brazing and all of the joints were tight. I have also been pinning this frame, but will say that the only joint I didn't pin was the HT/DT joint. So I finally get the time to braze it up today. ST to DT angle at the BB is supposed to be 60.1. Again I had checked this many times with my angle finder. It was spot on. I braze it, clean it up, put it in the jig and prop the HT in to work on getting it brazed as well. I
It's off.
It seems that when I brazed the DT into the BB, the angle changed? It's now 58.8. Now in order to have the DT be where it's supposed to be at the HT, I physically have to pull it down about 9mm. It's crazy. I know that forcing the tube to be somewhere is shouldn't be will only put additional stress on the tube itself and potentially lead to failure. Here are my questions:
How could this have happened? How can I fix it? I'm afraid to try to pull the DT from the BB and REALLY don't want to start over. Do I have any options? Am I okay to pull and braze? I'm really upset as I've spent A LOT of time on this frame to make sure that everything is perfect. It's my 4th frame and was/is supposed to be my best one yet. The build quality between this one and my first is 10 times better and I'll be so sad if I have to ditch it.
Thanks in advance.
