Today I started fabricating a front rack. I got the bottom eyelet mount brackets made and the front arms cut and bent to shape. Forgot to take any pics, but I will tomorrow as I make more progress. I’m pulling inspiration from the Cetma Cargo half rack but went with aluminum vs stainless. I also want to incorporate finer details in areas such as mounting brackets and use sweeping bends vs all straight tubing. I think a slightly taller back stop will be useful. I’ll also be adding eyelets for straps and bungees, and want to use local mesquite between the aluminum on the actual rack part. I have some very nice beryl mesquite limbs that I will cut into planks to use. The welds on the Cetma racks look quite cheesy and my tig welds should come out much nicer!
