Yes -- you'll have to use a "Rapid Fire" style shifter with those "bar ends". That's the shifter design where both triggers are under the bar. The "Easy Fire" design that you have is not compatible with this and other accessories (such as inboard mounted mirrors), because of the travel required by the top trigger.

You can get 3x9 Rapid Fire shifters pretty inexpensively, but you'll need new linear pull brake levers also. Expect to spend about $50 on new shifters and brake levers if bought well online. It could be worth it if you really want those inner "bar ends".
