Sounds like the adjuster has unthreaded completely. It will be held together by the cable's tension. Rethread the two halves of the adjuster back together and adjust the cable tension by using the anchor bolt. Then go back to the adjuster for the fine tuning. If you are unable to get enough cable tension before the inline adjuster comes apart then perhaps an adjuster with a greater range of adjustment is in order. Andy
