Oh brother. I have a patient with diabetes who took medicine A a couple years ago and did GREAT. He did so well we stopped it. Now his sugars are up again and he should go back on medicine A. Insurance says they won't cover it unless he tries medicine B AND medicine C.
He tried both medicines B and medicines C, and had terrible side effects.
So we asked insurance to cover medicine A.
They wrote back and said they WILL NOT cover medicine A. Why? Because they say he must try medicine B or medicine C first.
