Yup, I finally got a race in, but not before missing the start of the Hunter Districts crit on Fri night. Knocked off work at 2:30 and careened up the hwy, only to run low on petrol 15 minutes from the start line. Pulled in and topped her up only to have to wait in a queue for 12 mins while the numb-nuts behind the counter plodded along at his own merry pace. Game over.

Anyway, had a solid hit out on Sunday. Tried a few things out and had a pretty good chance at a win until I fell for the oldest trick in the book like a C Grade noob. Got suckered into bridging a little gap at the top of the climb on the last lap and they sat up. Momentum took its course and yours truly inherited the honour of leading the pack to the line. Not enough legs left to charge away from them. Oh well, another day another lesson learned. Getting sick of learnin stuff.
